On Monday, April 11, 2016 WOBM-AM's "Wake Up With Jeremy Grunin" host Jeremy Grunin announced to the community that he needed their votes. Grunin need help to make a decision on where to donate his entire quarterly salary. The $6,600 donation got the community and the non-profit organizations involved talking, and the votes started pouring in.
The past two weeks the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore received thousands of votes, from those who believe in our mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character.
On Friday, April 22, 2016, the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore had fallen to second place just hours before the voting deadline. To keep the momentum going, the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore asked the community one last time for their votes, in hopes of reclaiming first place and receiving the $6,600 donation.
After much anticipation over the weekend, this morning, Monday, April 25, 2016 WOBM-AM's "Wake Up With Jeremy Grunin" host Jeremy Grunin announced that the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore received the highest number of votes and would be the non-profit receiving his donation of $6,600.
Thanks to the thousands of people voting each day and sharing their love and support of the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, we are able to continue building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.
The money donated will go towards girl programs, camperships, and scholarships.
