Girl Scouts in Monmouth and Ocean Counties begin selling Girl Scout Cookies Saturday, January 16. In addition to buying cookies for themselves, customers will once again have the opportunity to donate cookies through the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore’s Jersey Shore Cares program. Donations received are divided between military service members and the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
This year’s Girl Scout Cookie varieties include Samoas, Thin Mints, Trefoils, Do-Si-Dos, Tag-A-Longs, Savannah Smiles, and Rah-Rah Raisins. A limited supply of Toffee-Tastic, a gluten-free cookie, are available for purchase as well.
All varieties of Girl Scout Cookies still cost $4 a box, with the exception of Toffee-Tastic; it costs $5.50 per box.
For those ordering using traditional methods, initial Girl Scout Cookie orders must be placed by Sunday, January 31. Orders placed after that date will still be fulfilled, but will arrive a few days later. Beginning Friday, February 26, through mid-April, Girl Scouts will also host more than 2,000 booth sales at areas businesses.
Those who can’t wait until late-February for a delicious box of Girl Scout Cookies can once again order cookies online and have them delivered to their door in a matter of days. This state-of-the-art opportunity, sponsored by Dell and VISA Checkout, doesn’t take the place of girls selling in person, but is a convenience for those who want to order cookies online from a Girl Scout they know.
Gift of Caring donations can also be made online. These “virtual donations” will also be delivered to the Girl Scouts’ Gift of Caring partners at the end of the Girl Scout Cookie Sale.
