Citizen Scientist Journey offered to Girl Scout Juliette Daisies, Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes

Child-Scientist

For the 2018-2019 Girl Scout year, we're reinventing our program for independent Girl Scouts and returning to Girl Scouts’ roots. No longer are these Girl Scouts called iGirls; they're returning to the name that has been synonymous with independent Girl Scouts over the last century – Girl Scout Juliettes.

The first part of that reinvention is a series of Journey programs for Girl Scout Juliette Daisies, Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes - the Citizen Scientist Journey.

Did you know that you can help with scientific research right from your home? Scientists need to collect information about animals, plants, or other things over a large area for a long time. With such a large task, they ask others who like science to help them collect data. These people are called Citizen Scientists, and you can be one too! Join us for a series of seven meetings to earn the Citizen Scientist Journey while assisting NASA, US Geological Survey, college research labs and more.

This program costs $60 for the whole journey. That's less than $10 per meeting.

This Journey is offered in the following locations.

Eatontown, Vetter School

Hazlet, Cullen Center

Neptune Community Center

Toms River, Ocean Service Center
