Our priority is always the health and safety of our girls, volunteers
and the overall community. We continue to actively monitor the
COVID-19 situation through the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local, state and
national public health officials. We are reaching out to update you on
actions we are taking in response to CDC and other public health
guidance, as well as in response to feedback and concerns we are
hearing from our members, families, volunteers, staff, donors,
supporters and friends regarding the cookie program.
Given current local impact, we are making the following changes at
this time to the 2020 Girl Scout Cookie Program.
Extending the Program
We are extending the 2020 Cookie Program through Sunday, April 26. Yes, this includes the depots!
Cookie Booth Sales
If you choose, you can continue to host and schedule cookie booths through Sunday, April 26. We ask girls and their parents, along with troop leaders, use their discretion with the most current information from the CDC.
Rewards
We know how hard the troops have been working in this year’s Cookie Program. It is our commitment to get rewards to you as soon as possible, however we anticipate possible delays due to COVID-19.
Program Suggestions
Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore wants to support our Cookie Bosses as they apply the business skills they've learned through the program. With that in mind, we encourage girls to take advantage of additional opportunities to sell Girl Scout Cookies.
- Contact friends and family and direct them to purchase through the girl's Digital Cookie, placing focus on the Virtual Gift of Caring and donation options!
- Social media (when used correctly and monitored) as a marketing message, in conjunction with Digital Cookie, is a great way to reach more friends and family.
- Monitor eBudde for additional selling opportunities and locations.
Council continues to spread the word and is working to identify
community partners willing to participate in cookie inventory
buyouts.
We continue to monitor the situation and will
announce any additional changes as soon as possible. On behalf of the
Girl Scout Movement, we want to thank each of you for being part of
our collective action to prevent the spread of coronavirus. We will
continue to update you through e-mail, on the Girl Scouts of the
Jersey Shore’s website and via social media.
