Girls Scouts of the Jersey Shore’s Camp Amity Acres in Waretown was voted the best summer camp in Ocean County and our organization named one of the best nonprofits in Ocean County in the Asbury Park Press Best of the Best program.
The program polls the local community to select the best businesses and organizations in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
Results were announced in an awards show aired on YouTube Nov.11, featuring celebrity guests Jillian Michaels, Carla Hall, Alfonso Ribeiro, Amy Robach, among others, and printed in a special section of the Asbury Park Press on Sunday, Nov. 14.
“We’re beyond proud and grateful to our community for the tremendous support,” said Eileen Higgins, chief executive officer of Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, which serves more than 9,000 girls in communities across Monmouth and Ocean counties.
“We congratulate all the winners and finalists who make our Jersey Shore community a great place to live, work and play,” Higgins added.
Guided by a mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place, Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore is the area’s premiere leadership organization for girls.
The nonprofit is supported and strengthened by more than 4,000 volunteers who contribute countless hours leading troops, mentoring, and guiding local girls from all backgrounds, helping them to realize their potential.
