Girls will step into the role of engineers as they explore real-world problems and use the Engineering Design Process to imagine, design, and build creative solutions. Throughout this Journey, they'll collaborate, test their ideas, and showcase their go-getter spirit alongside fellow Girl Scouts. During this Journey, girls will: Discover how engineers use design thinking to solve everyday challenges. Take on three hands-on engineering activities: Build a paper structure that can hold heavy books in the Eiffel Tower Design Challenge Use a variety of materials that can protect against the elements in the Emergency Shelter Challenge Construct a model that resists shaking in the Earthquake Safe Hotel Challenge Plan a Take Action project that raises awareness about the lack of women in engineering-and inspires others to explore STEM careers.
