The Girl Scout membership year runs from October 1 to September 30 and must be renewed annually. Annual membership dues are $80 for girl members and $30 for adult members.

How to Renew Your Membership

For Families: How to Renew Yourself or Your Family toggle arrow

Log into MyGS. You’ll need the email address and password you used to sign up for Girl Scouts. If you need help accessing your account, reach out—we’re happy to help!
Returning to the same troop and/or volunteer role?
- Once you’ve logged into your account, click the “Renew Now” button to renew all members of your household.
- Review your cart, agree to the Girl Scout Promise and Law, and click the “Add Payment Details” button .
- Enter your credit card information for payment and submit. Note: Some Girl Scout councils offer financial assistance or allow Girl Scouts to renew their membership with program credits. Connect with your  local Girl Scout council to learn more.
- You’re done! Once your order is processed, you'll receive an email confirmation of your membership renewal(s).
Not returning to the same troop or volunteer role?
- Click/tap on “My Household” in the left hand menu. 
- Check the “Select All” boxes or indicate the girls and adults in your household who you’d like to renew.
- Check the “Not Returning” box next to the troops or roles you’re not continuing with this year.
- You can continue to renew without choosing a new troop. Contact us to connect with a new opportunity in your area.
- Click “Add Renewal.”
- Confirm that the details for your household members are correct. Then, choose the membership year and select your desired payment type.
- Some Girl Scout councils offer financial assistance or allow Girl Scouts to renew their membership with program credits. Connect with your  local Girl Scout council to learn more.
- Review your cart, agree to the Girl Scout Promise and Law, and click the “Add Payment Details” button .
- Enter your credit card information for payment and submit.
- You’re done! Once your order is processed, you'll receive an email confirmation of your membership renewal(s).

For Troop Leaders: How to Renew Your Troop toggle arrow

Log into MyGS. You’ll need the email address and password you used to sign up for Girl Scouts. If you need help accessing your account, reach out—we’re happy to help!
Once you’ve logged into your account, click the “Renew Now” button to renew all members of your troop.
Review your cart and make any adjustments needed, agree to the Girl Scout Promise and Law, and click the “Add Payment Details button.
Enter your credit card information for payment and submit.
You’re done! Once your order is processed, you'll receive an email confirmation of your troop renewal(s).

Renewing a Girl who has been marked INACTIVE toggle arrow

“Do Not Renew” deems a membership inactive.

If a membership is marked “inactive,” you will not be able to renew it without assistance from Council, contact Customer Care for assistance at customercare@gsfun.org or 800-785-2090

Troubleshooting Login Issues toggle arrow

If you are unable to login to your MyGS account or you cannot remember your password, follow the password reset steps.

Click the Forgot Password link.
Enter your email and click Send Link to send a password reset link to your email.
If your email is found in the system, you will receive an email from Girl Scouts prompting you to set a new password.
Make sure to check your junk/spam folder.
From the email, click Set a new password button.
Reset your password by creating a new password, confirming, and then click Reset Password. You are all set. You will now be able to follow the login instructions listed above.

Renewal Incentives

For Girl Scouts toggle arrow

The first 1,000 girls who renew their membership starting April 1st will receive a fun Early Bird Patch!

Junior Troops who renew April 1st will have a chance for a FREE Junior Girl Experience Box. GSUSA has allocated 5,000 total Junior Experience boxes nationally, which will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. All 2nd year Daisy troops bridging to Brownies for MY27 who meet the criteria will be included in the Experience Box process. Orders will be placed once eligible troops are reflected.

For Troop Leaders toggle arrow

The first 400 troop leaders who renew at least 80% of their troop (minimum of 4 girls) will receive a free adult membership.

2026 Early Bird Renewal FAQs

What is considered 80% for troops? toggle arrow

Your troop's renewal rate is determined by the number of girls actively registered in the troop as of March 31, 2026. (If 8 girls out of 10 girls renew, the troop has met 80% renewal.) The troop must meet a minimum size of 4 girls renewed to qualify. If a girl leaves the troop after this date, the troop may still retain their 80% retention rate if they replace that girl with a new girl.

Are Lifetime Members eligible for Early Bird incentives? toggle arrow

Yes, Lifetime Members are eligible as long as they renew their volunteer roles for 2027 by the deadlines on the chart.

I am a lifetime member. Shouldn’t I already be counted as renewed? toggle arrow

Since many volunteers change roles/participation from year to year, we don’t make the automatic assumption that a volunteer is returning. Therefore, we ask that you please visit our website and log into the MyGS portal, choose your household, and click the renew button to renew your role for next year to update your status. We appreciate your continued dedication.

Am I guaranteed an Early Bird patch? toggle arrow

Early bird patches will be given to the first 1,000 girls who renew their membership on April 1st, while supplies last.

How will Troop Leaders know how many girls are in their troops? toggle arrow

Troop Leaders may log into their account by visiting our website, gsfun.org. Click on MYGS at the top, then Log In (highlighted in yellow a the top of the next page) to get on your Girl Scout account. On the menu on the left side, click MY TROOPS and choose the troop(s) you'd like to view.

What if girls are not coming back next year? toggle arrow

If there are girls not returning (not due to graduation), in order for the troop to qualify for rewards, you will need to recruit/add new girls to replace those leaving the troop prior to the deadline listed on the chart. Girls not returning due to graduation/aging out of the girl program are not required to have replacement within the troop.

You would recruit new girls to join your troop, in essence, “replace” the girl(s) not returning.

It feels like I’m just being penalized because I have girls not returning. toggle arrow

We understand that it can read a bit like that and that is truly not our intent. Our objective is to foster inclusivity and to help expand our membership so that every girl may have an opportunity to be a Girl Scout. We understand that the 100% renewal rate is a stretch and so are the incentives that we are offering. Yet, we are hoping that if you are open and willing to extend an invitation to a new girl, that her participation will both positively complement the troop and also offer her a Girl Scout experience she wouldn't otherwise have available to her.

Why isn’t my username working?
Your username is typically your email address. If you have more than one email address, try each. You can also use the “Forgot Your Password?” link to send a reset email to your email address. If you’re still having trouble, contact our Customer Care team.

Why am I not receiving the password reset emails?
The password reset emails come from gsusacustomercare@girlscouts.org, so please make sure it’s added to your safe senders list. If you requested the reset email before marking our email address as safe, check your spam folder. If you’re still not receiving the email, contact our Customer Care team to verify that your username/email address is correct.

How do I reset my password when I no longer have access to the email address associated with my account?
Our Customer Care team can easily change your username/email address without requiring you to recreate your account. Contact us to get started.

Why can’t I see my family when I log in?
There are a couple reasons this could happen:

Another adult family member may be listed as the preferred contact on the account. That person must log in to renew. Contact our Customer Care team if you’d like to be listed as your household’s preferred contact.

You may have a second or duplicate account with a different email address. Try a different username. If that works, be sure to contact our Customer Care team to merge the two accounts into one.

Why can’t I see my troop(s) when I log in?
There are several reasons this could happen:

Troops are listed on a separate tab from your family. If you have more than one troop, look for the pull-down menu to change between them.
Check your member profile to make sure you’re listed as a volunteer in the troop.
Not all troop volunteers can access the troop tab. Contact us to see which volunteer roles they allow to access the tab.

If your background check has expired, you may lose access until it is up-to-date.
