Council Shop Update
For many years, our Girl Scout Shops have been special places for girls, volunteers, families, and alumnae; places filled with memories, traditions, excitement, and the beginning of so many Girl Scout adventures. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported our shops and the important role they have played within our council community.
After thoughtful evaluation and careful consideration, Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore has made the difficult decision to close our retail store operations. The Toms River Shop will close effective July 31, and the Farmingdale Shop will close effective September 30.
Like many organizations, we continue to evaluate how to best align our resources to support our mission and ensure long-term sustainability. While this decision was not made lightly, it allows us to focus more directly on delivering impactful programs, camp experiences, leadership opportunities, and support for girls across Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
We understand this news may feel emotional for many members of our community. Our shops have been part of countless bridging ceremonies, first uniforms, badge celebrations, and milestone moments over the years. We deeply value the memories created there and the staff and volunteers who helped make each visit feel welcoming and special.
We are also grateful to share that Monica and Kathy will continue with Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore in new roles within the organization. Monica will transition into the role of Assistant Director of Facility Operations, and Kathy will serve as Membership and Recruitment Specialist. We are thankful that their knowledge, care, and commitment to Girl Scouting will continue to support girls and families throughout our council.
While our storefront locations will close, families and volunteers will continue to have convenient access to uniforms, badges, patches, and Girl Scout merchandise through www.girlscoutshop.com. Online purchases continue to support Girl Scouts locally and help provide important funding for programs and experiences serving girls in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. As we prepare for the shop closures, we invite the community to visit the stores over the coming months while supplies last.

Store Discount: Begining July 1st all shop items wil be 25% off. In store only, while supplies last. Build-A-Bear is now included in the sale.

Build-A-Bear Update
At this time, we no longer host Build-A Bear parties at our facility. However, we do still have Build-A Bear products available for purchase in our Toms River and Farmingdale locations. While supplies last!
Council Shop Pricing Update
Girl Scouts USA has announced a price increase on select retail items, which will begin rolling out in our stores starting August 4, 2025.
To help offset rising processing costs, a 3% convenience fee will be added to all credit and debit card purchases beginning August 18, 2025. Payments made by cash or check are always welcome and will not incur this fee.
We truly appreciate your continued support and understanding as we work to serve our community with care and integrity.
GSJS Gift Cards can be purchased at either of our two GSJS Council Shops,

GSJS Gift Cards can be used to purchase anything in either of our brick & mortar council shops, on a GSJS program, Camp Amity Acres or Camp Sacajawea, or for a GSJS Girl Scout Membership!
You can also use a GSJS Gift Card to create a new best friend at our GSJS Build A Bear Workshop coming in early 2025 to our Ocean Service Center Shop in Toms River! We can create GSJS Gift Cards in any denomination.

EXPLOREUniforms Essentials Guide
For over a century, girls have been united by proudly wearing the Girl Scout uniform. Girl Scouts at each grade level have one official uniform item (sash, vest or tunic) to display badges, pins, insignia, and awards. This uniform item is required when girls participate in ceremonies or offcially represent Girl Scouts. Girls wear the sash, vest, or tunic over designated offcial apparel or a white shirt and khaki pants or skirt.
Uniform includes an official Girl Scout scarf, tie, or vest worn with offcial membership pins along with designated official apparel or navy blue business attire when participating in ceremonies or officially representing Girl Scouts. For casual events such as troop meetings, adult members can wear designated offcial apparel or casual attire.

MOBILE SHOP ORDERS OR LOCATION REQUEST
Do you have a location you think the Mobile Shop should be at? Share it with us! Include address, date, time, and number of girls that would be present. Please note, there are no guarantees we will be able to make it to your requested location.
All orders must be placed and paid for by the Wednesday before the scheduled delivery in your area. See below for current dates and locations. The Mobile shop will be canceled if there are no orders placed by the Wednesday the mobile shop is expected in that area.
Additional Girl Scout items will be available for purchase in the mobile shop, but cash will not be accepted. Only credit cards will be accepted.

Unauthorized usage of the Girl Scout name and trademarks may result in diminished value of the Girl Scout brand. To ensure optimum brand identity, we need to be clear and consistent about the messages our products and designs convey to Girl Scouts, non-Girl Scouts and potential Girl Scouts. Therefore, everyone in Girl Scouting has a role in protecting the Girl Scout name and trademarks against unauthorized, inconsistent and unlicensed use.
