Amazing Women in History: Billie Jean King - Self-Guided Patch Program This self-guided Girl Scout program invites girls to learn about the groundbreaking achievements of Billie Jean King-tennis champion, advocate for equality, and lifelong trailblazer. Through activities and stories, girls will explore how Billie Jean used her voice and her platform to fight for fairness, equal pay, and opportunities for women in sports and beyond. Girls can move through the program at their own pace as they connect her legacy to themes of confidence, leadership, and standing up for what's right. Participants are also invited to join an optional Zoom session on April 21st, where girls can share what inspired them most, discuss Billie Jean King's impact on sports and equality, and brainstorm ways they can promote fairness in their own communities. To begin your self-guided journey, register for the program and, once final, you will receive a PDF download of your activities. Patches will be mailed to all registrants.
A zoom link will be sent that week for all who would like to attend the zoom option on April 21st so make sure to choose that option during registration. Be sure to register for other programs in the series to continue exploring more Amazing Women in History!
