Girl Scouts, explore the science of cooking! Learn about how gluten
development affects texture, how temperature affects gelatin, and how
yeast reacts to sugar by kneading up some pasta dough, whipping up a
chocolate mousse, and experimenting with yeast! Girl Scouts will take
home ready-to-cook pasta and enjoy their chocolate mousse during the
program. Pasta is eggless but requires flour with gluten. Chocolate
mousse contains dairy.
This program fulfills steps from
the cooking series badges. Kitchen Chemistry fun patch included in
youth fee. This Brownie-level program is also open to
1st grade Daisies bridging to Brownies in September 2026.
This program is intended for girl participants only. Attendance
requires an adult chaperone for each group or individual, who must
register to meet required girltoadult supervision ratios in alignment
with Safety Activity Checkpoints. Adult registration is complimentary,
and all attending adults must adhere to GSJS policies and procedures.
Non-members can register and try out this program and
experience Girl Scouts in a fun way. Once you have seen a small
glimpse of what your future Girl Scout can learn and experience, head
on over to gsfun.org/join and register her as an official Girl Scout!
Girl Scout members enjoy special member-only pricing on our programs -
and even MORE opportunities to explore! Girl Scouts isn't just a
program - it's a place where girls discover who they are, connect with
others, and take action to shape their world.
