Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors, explore the science of cooking! Learn about how gluten development affects texture, how temperature affects gelatin, and how yeast reacts to sugar by kneading up some pasta dough, whipping up a chocolate mousse, and experimenting with yeast! Girl Scouts will take home ready-to-cook pasta and enjoy their chocolate mousse during the program. Pasta is eggless but requires flour with gluten. Chocolate mousse contains dairy.

This program works on skills helpful to Girl Scouts working towards their cooking series badges. Kitchen Chemistry fun patch included in youth fee. This program is designed for troops or individuals with an adult chaperone. Adult chaperones should also register for this event to meet Safety Activity Checkpoints youth to adult ratios. There is no cost for adult registration. All adults attending must comply with GSJS's policies and procedures.

Non-members can register and try out this program and experience Girl Scouts in a fun way. Once you have seen a small glimpse of what your future Girl Scout can learn and experience, head on over to gsfun.org/join and register her as an official Girl Scout! Girl Scout members enjoy special member-only pricing on our programs - and even MORE opportunities to explore!  Girl Scouts isn't just a program - it's a place where girls discover who they are, connect with others, and take action to shape their world.
