Girls will meet Mayor Cradle and learn about the history of South Toms River, explore how elections work at the local, state, and national levels, and take part in fun, age-appropriate activities that bring civic engagement to life. Scouts will hold a mock election, create campaign signs, give short speeches, cast ballots, and see how votes are counted. They'll also meet members of the Borough Council and learn about their roles in local government. The program colcludes with an exciting opportunity for the girls to sit in on a live council meeting, where they will be recognized and presented with their Democracy Badge in front of the council and community.
