Calling all creative Girl Scouts-it's time to get spooky and crafty! In Spooktacular S.W.A.P.S., Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors will discover the fun tradition of S.W.A.P.S. (Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere), small handmade crafts that Girl Scouts exchange as tokens of friendship. Girls will learn about the history and meaning behind S.W.A.P.S., then design and create their own Halloween-themed versions using a variety of fun materials. From pumpkins and ghosts to silly spiders and bats, each Girl Scout will make a collection of unique swaps to share. Participants will leave the program ready and excited to trade their creations at the Halloween Spooktacular GLOW event the following month-building connections, spreading joy, and celebrating Girl Scout traditions in a fun and festive way. This program encourages creativity, sharing, and sisterhood while preparing girls for a memorable council-wide experience!
This program is designed for troops or individuals with an adult chaperone. Adult chaperones should also register for this event to meet Safety Activity Checkpoints youth to adult ratios. There is no cost for adult registration. All adults attending must comply with GSJS's policies and procedures.
