Future scientists, grab your lab coats and don your safety goggles, it's time for a summer STEM challenge! Explore and develop your interests in engineering & design, the environmental sciences, and computers & technology, then learn about future STEM careers. Visit fun new places, conduct at-home science experiments, learn to code, and more!
Girl Scouts can fulfill steps towards badges in the following badge series:
- Automotive Engineering
- Craft and Tinker
- Mechanical Engineering
- Robotics
- Outdoors (environmental sciences)
- Math in Nature
- Space Science
- STEM Career Exploration
- Coding
- Cybersecurity
- Digital Leadership
This challenge takes place through Labor Day (9/7). Registration is ongoing and the challenge may be started at any time within the timeframe. At home, print out the list of challenges. Challenge lists will be sent within 2 business days of registration. Keep track of each challenge as you complete it! Share photos of you completing challenges and tag us at @girlscoutsjs with the hashtag #gsjssummerSTEMchallenge. Sharing photos and posting on social media is optional and not required to earn points. Challenges can be submitted via this form. Winners of each level will be announced on GSJS social medias in September. Points must be submitted by 11:59pm 9/8/26 to be considered.
Challenge participants will earn a limited-edition Summer STEM Challenge fun patch for completing the total number of challenges required for their level (see challenge sheet for details). Patches will be available for pick-up at a GSJS office (Farmingdale or Toms River) or available to be shipped. This program is intended for girl participants only.
Non-members can register and try out this program and experience Girl Scouts in a fun way. Once you have seen a small glimpse of what your future Girl Scout can learn and experience, head on over to gsfun.org/join and register her as an official Girl Scout!
