Leena is a Sophomore and has been an enthusiastic Girl Scout since
first grade. As a Brownie, she worked with her troop to create Fear
the Foam, a program that temporarily removed styrofoam from the
cafeteria at her Elementary School and replaced it with an
eco-friendly alternative. As a Junior, she spearheaded a Bronze Award
project with other troop members that designed a fun and educational
“sensory nook” within two special needs classrooms at an Elementary
School. During middle school, she initiated her own Silver Award
Project titled ReBook, ReRead, ReImagine which increased access to
books and interest in reading to address inequities in childhood literacy.
Outside of Girl Scouts, Leena is a cellist and enjoys dancing
bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance style.
Within school, Leena is an editor for the school newspaper, captain
of the debate team, and very involved in the school community.
Leena is the co-founder and co-host of Dear Little Sisters, a
podcast aimed to empower girls by sharing the stories of inspiring
women. She has connected with guests all over the world from very
diverse industries and career fields. She is a co-lead of
STEMpowering, an Initiative to involve children in all communities in STEM.
In her free time, Leena enjoys spending time with her family and
friends. She loves being outside and going to the beach.
